Meditation & Yoga
The yoga and meditation classes I offer are designed to support healing and embodied awakening. I first tasted the fruits of practicing yoga and meditation in 2002 and my aim is to share these practices and their great benefits in an easeful and joyful way. Many people report that a regular yoga and meditation practice supports all areas of their life.
Hatha (sun/moon) Yoga can clear and align the energetic channels and bring the yang and yin (masculine/feminine) aspects of our being into union. Yoga can also support the three main energetic centres of our being: head, heart and gut, into balance and union. Through internal and external right action, physical alignment, strength and flexibility, rhythm, breath and concentration, we can help our system settle easefully into our natural state of meditation.
Each session uses styles and techniques uniquely suited to the group, environment, moon cycle and season.
The meditation techniques I love to practice include Formless Meditation, Vipassana, Dzogchen, Mindfulness of Breathing and Metta Bhavana. I enjoy different styles of yoga, including Yin, Kundalini, Sivananda, Iyengar, Ashtanga, Bikram and Vinyasa.
In 2011, I completed a two year 200 hour Hatha Yoga Teacher Training with Friends of Yoga (FRYOG) in Petersfield, England.
